Diversity in the science and technology workforce and the nation thought leaders is universally understood to be a necessity for continued innovation and global leadership. The Georgia Institute of Technology considers equity in diversity and inclusion to be a fundamental ethical imperative. To that end, we are intentional in building deep and sustained research partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). We will work with partner HBCUs and MSIs to develop support systems to facilitate research collaborations and actively explore potential collaborative research engagements that lead to stronger pipelines for high quality graduates that enhance diversity in our nation’s workforce.

Our Vision: GT will identify and streamline processes that enable collaborative and innovative research with HBCUs and MSIs, develop an ongoing process for identifying, networking, and consummating potential research collaborations across GT with HBCUs and MSIs, and establish/maintain a network of sources, sponsors, and new paradigms for funding long-term research partnerships.
